In Spring Festival，Western people have a big dinner. After dinner, they often bring some food and some gifts to visit friends and relatives. The first person who walks into the house predicts good or bad for the coming year. But in china, people can go shopping before Spring Festival. Then, in the evening, people make cakes and tang yuan. On Chinese New Year’s Eve, people have a big dinner. Then, people go to buy firecrackers. On Chinese New Year’s Day ,every child’s parents can give their child red packets. After lunch, people go to watch a wonderful lion dance. On the second day of Chinese New Year, people watch fireworks in the evening.
Halloween is very popular in Western countries. It is on the thirty-first of October. Children usually dress up. They knock on people’s doors and shout “Trick or treat” for sweets.
This is the difference between Chinese festivals and British holidays. I like British holidays very much, but I like Chinese festivals more.
