Helen eller(1880~1968) was a faus authr and educatr. She was stricen at the age f 19 nths with an illness that left her deaf and blind. She becae ute shrtl thereafter. Her parents in 1887 gt her a teacher Anne Mansfield Sullivan fr the Perings Schl fr the Blind in Bstn. A rearable, clse relatinship develped between teacher and pupil. Within tw ears, Miss eller was able t read and write in Braille. She graduated(1904)fr Radcliffe Cllege, where Miss Sullivan had spelled the lectures int her hand.
Helen eller devted her life t publicl aiding the deaf and blind. With the aid f a translatr, she tured the wrld t prte the educatin f persns siilarl afflicted. She wrte nuerus bs, including“The Str f M Life”(1902).
