  Foreigners’ Impression On Chinese [

Nowadays, Chinese people are everywhere, on the one hand, they like to travel and on the other hand, the population is very large. But foreigners’ impression on Chinese is not always good. The media have reported the negative incidents that were brought by Chinese tourists, and many foreigners have given their opinion and criticized the tourists’ behavior. It is true that many Chinese people haven’t realized their bad behavior, such as talking loudly in the public occasion. As we have the large population, so not every people has the chance to receive good education. What’s more, the foreign media just reported the bad side while ignoring the good side, so the foreign people always think Chinese people are rude. We admit that we are not doing well enough and we need to behave ourselves. And I believe that a wise man will make his own judgment when he communicate with Chinese.

chinese are very generous while educating children. not caring about the money, parents of-

ten send their children to the best schools or even abroad to study because they believe that the more

expensive an education is, the better it is. so parents will spend an unreasonable amount of money on

education. even poor couples will buy a computer for their children.

however, the best early education is usually very cheap.

children's skills vary. most parents fail to realize though, what children lack today is self-respect and self-confidence.

the problem is that parents are only educating their children on how to take multiple choice tests and study well instead of the most important skills of being confident, happy and clever. parents can achieve this by teaching practical skills like cooking, sewing and other housework.

cooking will improve many skills children need later in life. though demanding patience and time, it is an enjoyable experience. a good cook always tries to improve his cooking,so he works hard and gradually finishes his job successfully.his result, a well-cooked dinner, will give him much satisfaction and a lot of self-confidence.

some old machines, such as a broken radio or tv set your child plays with will make him curious and arouse his interest. he may spend hours looking at them, trying to fix them. these activities are not merely teaching a child to read a book, but rather to think, to use his mind. and that is more important.

  A break with the past

For centuries one family type existed here: patriarchy. The wife went to live with the husband's family. Family was a male hierarchy, practical, based on need. It offered food, shelter, status, regeneration.

After 1949 the family was turned toward nation-building, and it served the state. But despite dramatic laws making husbands and wives equal in theory, the basic family structure survived. Two things changed that: the "one child policy" and Deng Xiaoping's epic liberalizing in 1979.

From then on everything accelerated, including the state's withdrawal from people's family lives and an end to the patriarchal structure.

You can barely find a patriarchal family in the city now. Sixty percent of Beijing families are nuclear, run by husband and wife. In Chinese tradition, you need a male heir to carry on the name. You bear children until there is a son; it is extremely important for identity. Yet now 50 percent have no son, and many don't worry about it.

China is now 15 years into an economic "miracle" made possible by the combination of endless cheap labor, a colossus of east coast factories, and by a national capacity for organization and adaptability. The ability to earn enough to buy a car and apartment in the city has created new alternatives and expectations. Many younger Chinese talk about education, travel abroad, fulfillment, and spirituality - as well as work. Families in the city are now accommodating a culture of cellphones, a drying up of the number of aunts and uncles in the family, and acceptance of divorce.

The bicycle is the most common means of transport in our country. There are several reasons for that. First, most people are not rich enough to buy a car. Since the bicycle is not expensive, it is affordable by the average Chinese families. Second, China has a large population and the traffic is heavy. The bicycle has the advantage of being small in size. A road which can only allow two cars to pass may allow more than ten bicycles to run side by side. Finally, people enjoy riding a bicycle to school, to work and on outing. It is so pleasant and the exercise is good for people’s health.

Compared with a car, a bicycle has its disadvantages and advantages. For instance, a bicycle is not fit for a long distance trip. A person who sits all day long in a car might get fat and unhealthy, while a person on a bicycle may gain good health and pleasure.

The bicycle is popular in China and it will remain so for a long time to come. Many things must change before cars became common in China. Therefore, in the foreseeable future, the bicycle will still be welcome.

Last Qingming Festival,I return home to worship my grandfather.Qingming

Festival is a folk Festival. In the past,In the past, the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor Day". But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a family's home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.

With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family.
