英语作文 篇1

A good teacher-student relationship is able to effectively further the student to a higher level in study. The teacher with patience and understanding encourages the student instead of pushing or forcing him. The relationship of this sort makes learning so enjoyable and funny that the student would work hard willingly.

However, a bad relationship seriously weakens the achievement of teaching. It discourages the student from learning, leaving him with a wrong and negative attitude towards studying. Thus, teaching also becomes an unpleasant task, which forms a vicious cycle.

As I see it, the relationship between a teacher and a student should be attached much importance to. A good relationship makes the teachers job worthwhile while a bad one ill-affects the students development, even to the rest of his life.

英语作文 篇2

Above all, economic recession and incompetence of students result in their failure to secure a job. Also, if graduate students aim lower and learn harder, situation will be better, for what is universally acknowledged--Ability speaks louder than luck.

英语作文 篇3

we know the sounds of cities are loud enough to cause great harm to people's hearing in the u.s. one person out of twenty has got some hearing loss. and all over the world the situation is getting worse and worse all the time since the noise increases with the population.

with the development of machines, noise has also increased greatly in the 20th century. we live surrounded by loud planes, trucks and electric tools. tv sets and radios add up to 90 or j00 decibels, a certain unit used to measure the loudness of sound. a normal dialogue reaches 55 decibels; a plane goes to 100, and an ordinary train, reaching the station, can be twice as loud as the loudest plane. disco music reaches about 118. at 120 decibels the ear stops hearing sound, and pain starts. how terrible if things go on like this!

英语作文 篇4

Property prices in China's first-tier cities have been soaring. In the year to September, the average property price rose 11% in China's 70 biggest cities, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. It is of great sadness as well as irony that a decent apartment is far beyond their reach for those migrant workers who have driven this nation's impressive economic growth story. In reaction, government offers loans. However, loans may help prop up growth but they could also be storing up trouble. Moreover, research notes from various international banks suggest 20xx could be the year China's debt-fuelled boom turns to bust.

英语作文 篇5

To build a conservation-oriented society is the newconcept for our country.

How to make it? I think to build a conservation-oriented society can from two sides.

Firstly, saving energy would be the first thing. Weneed to save all resource that we use in our daily life.We need to change our habit of extravagance and waste.

Secondly, we had better try our best to recycle something so that we can have more resourceto use.For example, the water that we have used to wash vegetable can be used to wash toilet again.

If we can do these, I believe building a conservation-oriented society is not a difficult thing.

英语作文 篇6

regardless of the level of formality.

as such, these words and expressions are well defined and listed in standard dictionaries.

colloquialisms, on the other hand, are familiar words and idioms that are understood by almost all speakers of a language and used in informal speech or writing, but not considered appropriate for more formal situations.

almost all idiomatic expressions are colloquial language.

slang, however, refers to words and expressions understood by a large number of speakers but not accepted as good, formal usage by the majority.

colloquial expressions and even slang may be found in standard dictionaries but will be so identified.

both colloquial usage and slang are more common in speech than in writing.

colloquial speech often passes into standard speech.

some slang also passes into standard speech, but other slang expressions enjoy momentary popularity followed by obscurity.

in some cases, the majority never accepts certain slang phrases but nevertheless retains them in their collective memories.

every generation seems to require its own set of words to desCRIbe familiar objects and events.

it has been pointed out by a number of linguists that three cultural conditions are necessary for the creation of a large body of slang expressions.

first, the introduction and acceptance of new objects and situations in the society; second, a diverse population with a large number of subgroups; third, association among the subgroups and the majority population.

finally, it is worth noting that the terms "standard" "colloquial" and "slang" exist only as abstract labels for scholars who study language.

only a tiny number of the speakers of any language will be aware that they are using colloquial or slang expressions.

most speakers of english will, during appropriate situations, select and use all three types of expressions.

  文化条件:第一,对社会中新事物的引入和接受;第二,一个由大量子群构成的.多样化人口;

  第三,各子群与多数人口之间的联系。最后需要提到的是,"标准语"、"俗语"和"俚语"这些 术语只是对研究语言的专家才有用的抽象标签。

  不论何种语言,只会有很小一部分使用者

  能够意识到他们是在使用俗语或俚语。 讲英语的多数人能够在适当的场合中选择使用所有 这三种语言类型。

英语作文 篇7

Everywhere you go, you'll see people, male or female, old or young, wearing jeans. Indeed, jeans have grown more and more popular since the first pair was born. In newspapers and magazines or on TV you often come across such ads as "Buy these jeans they are cheap. Buy them — they are hard wearing. Buy them — they are comfortable." I think there is no cheating in these ads.

In the first place, jeans are so cheap that almost everyone can afford to buy a pair, especially for students and wage-earners. No one would not pay less and get more.

That jeans wear well and wash well is their second superiority to other kinds of trousers. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you'll find jeans your good companion. Made of pure cotton, jeans are very comfortable. What is more, they produce a good image and make you look casual, sporty, tough, elegant, and sophisticated.

Modern fashions come and go quickly, but, thanks to Levi Strauss, jeans always remain people's first choice.

英语作文 篇10

indicated above are pictures that show trees play a vital role in water and soil conservation. in the left hand picture, people are fleeing from voracious sand dunes because they cut down all the trees. the caption reads, "as the sand advances, we retreat." in the right hand picture, the people have returned carrying tools, water and samplings for the reforestation of the land. we are informed that, "as we advances, the sand retreats."it seems that the cartoonist is sending a message about the significance of trees in water and soil conservation and the need for everyone to fight against the danger of the desertification. in fact, what he is saying is if we do not fight against the sand, it will drive us away from the land. if we let this situation go as it is, our environment will suffer a great destruction.

the best way to fight back against the greedy desert is made clear in the second picture. there the local people are vigorously setting about the task of planting trees to reclaim the land and make it fertile. the fact that there are three people in the picture, each with a different job suggests that cooperative efforts is one of the keys to success in the battle against soil erosion and only in this way can desertification be finally defeated.
