For example, we make use of dogs’ sensitive sense of smell to track down odors to help us in finding things which is difficult for humans to do. We also train sea lions to carry video cameras on their backs to record the natural behavior of whales. Because humans could never dive to the depths at which whales swim but sea lions can.
During our daily life, we also need animals to help us to do some things that are not necessary to do by ourselves. For example, we train monkeys to take care of the quadriplegics, train dogs to lead the blinder as guiders and so on.
In a word, we need animals’ help; animals should be trained to help humans. But animals also have emotions, so when we train them to help us, we shouldn’t regard them as slaves, but friends.
Animals Need Protecting
Animals are natural resources that people have wasted all through our history. Animals have been killed for their fur and feathers, for food, for sport, and simply because they were in the way. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. Some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. And they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. Quite a few countries have passed laws. These laws forbid the killing of any animal or plant on the danger list. Slowly, the number of some animals in danger is growing.
