Stefan与Damon正打算离开神秘瀑布镇，但变成吸血鬼的Logan的突然出现打乱了他们的行程。当Forbes警长告诉Damon又有一起袭击时，他表示愿意帮助寻找真凶并得知了有关小镇创始者家族的重要信息。Logan声称知道通往教堂下面的方法，并约Damon在教堂旧址见面告知详情。但没等Logan赴约，他就被新来的历史老师Alaric杀了。Elena和Stefan的感情终于更近了一步，但在她无意中看到Katherine的照片后情况又急转直下。Elena把Stefan给他的装马鞭草的项链留在了桌上，之后怀着复杂的心情在Stefan没发现时急急忙忙开车回家。途中，她为了避开一个行人出了车祸，车子翻滚到路边，但她撞到的人居然站了起来，朝她的车里走来。
