辨析owing to与due to
两者均为介词词组，均译为“因为”，但owing to更强调“归功于”，更趋向于褒义，而due to为中性词，无感情色彩。
辨析accept与receive，
accept译为“收下”，表示从心里愿意接受，而receive只表示收到，
如：I received a very expensive present, but I didn’t accept it.
determine vi. 决定，决心

live a. 现场的，鲜活的，
辨析live，lively，alive，living，
live指的是现场的，鲜活的等，
lively指的是有生气的，
alive与living均指的是活着的，但alive用于表语和后置定语，living用于前置定语。

注意两句中的定语从句，尤其是第二句中the moment在从句中做时间状语，关系副词用when。

When asked…此句为省略句，应为When he was asked…
owes much of his success and happiness to his wife and children
把成功与幸福归功于家庭

in all总共，此处还可用altogether，in total

不定式的否定结构做表语。
a 13-year-old girl 一个十三岁的女孩

比较以上两句中的词组的不同。

appear live亲自出现，系表结构
hoping此处为伴随结构，表示同一主语的不同动作在同时发生
