Step 1.Organizing the class
Sing an English song and a duty report.
Step 2.Revision
Show the pictures and music.Ask who did you see?
What did you hear? Show some questions to revise Lesson 82 (click the screen to show the answers).
Step3 Presentation
Tell the Ss that I live by myself.I have to look after myself.I sometimes go shopping with my friends.But most of the time I like to go shopping by myself.Nobody taught me to swim.I taught myself.Then show the dialogues,Tell the Ss that when you want somebody to have a good time,you say Enjoy yourself,Like this:
A:I’m going to a birthday party tomorrow!
B:oh good!Enjoy yourself!
Practise dialogues like these with the class:
T:I’m going to Qingdao next week!
Ss:Oh good!Enjoy yourself!
T:I’m going to the cinema after school!
Ss:Oh good!Enjoy yourself!
Get individual students to say I’m going to…
sentences for the rest of the class to respond Oh good!Enjoy yourself!
Step 4.Read and Learn
Part 1.show the pictures.Ask Does Mr More enjoy himself?Play the first part of the tape for the students to find the answer(no.)Ask Does Mr Little enjoy himself?And play the second part of the tape(Yes).Now show the text.let the students read the passages.They work in pairs to answer the questions.Check the answer with the whole class.Play the tape again for the students to practise reading aloud.
Step 5.Read and say.
Part 2.Show the dialogues.Play the tape for the students to listen and repeat.Then in groups of three get the students to read the dialogue together.Ask several groups to act it out in front of the class.
Step 6.Consolidation
Show some exercises:Fill in the forms with and or but,Let the Ss do them one by one,then click the screen to show the answers.
Then play the music 《my heart will go on》,Let the students have a rest. Click the next button to show the others)
Step 7.Workbook
Wb Lesson 83,Exx.1-3.Ask the students to read the two short passages again to find the compound sentences with and or but.Then do Exx.1 and 2.
Do Ex.3 orally as a class.For Ex.3,show the story,read the story to the class while they listen.Then ask the students to read the story quietly.Next divide the students into small groups and have them dicuss the questions.
