A. Useful expressions:

1. complete vt. complete adj. completely adv.

How long will it take you to complete the trip?

*When will the bridge be complete/completed?

2. make/take a trip/journey

How many of you are making the trip?

trip ─ a short journey and visit from and returning to a particular place

指短期的旅程和观光, 从某地出发再回到某地

journey ─ it may indicate a long distance or a short one travelled regularly

可指经常走过的或长或短的距离

travels ─ it suggests a fairly long period of travelling from place to place,

especially abroad, for pleasure or interest 指时间稍常的各处旅行,

tour ─ a (short or long) journey for pleasure, spent visiting several places

为游玩而到几个地方观光的(长途或短途)旅行

3. four of us 我们中的四个人

How many of you are making the trip? There are four of us.

4. collect/raise money 筹款

We're trying to collect money for a wildlife project.

5. put on performances

They often go to the country areas to put on peformances for the farmers.

6. at present = now

At present there are not many milu deer in nature parks in China, ...

7. year by year 逐年地, 年复一年

They liked the cool wet weather there and their number increased year by year.
