too much 意为“太多；过分的”，用作形容词时，其后修饰不可数名词（修饰可数名词时用too many），用作副词时，其后一般不再跟其他成份，也可用作名词。例如：
1. Eating too much is bad for your health. 吃得太多对你的健康有害。（作副词）
2. Neither of us has much time. We both have too much work to do. 我们俩都没有很多时间，我们有大量的工作要做。（作形容词）
much too 意为“实在太…… ；非常”，作副词，其后接形容词或副词。例如：
It's much too cold today. You'd better not go out. 今天天气很冷。你最好别出去。
