Ι.Teaching material analysis
This is the last unit of BookⅠin Grade7.It is the second period of this unit. The main topic is "My favorite subjects " and the reason description. It carries out teaching activities around “My favorite subject" and discusses the students’ likes and dislikes .This reflects daily life communicative function of the language learning.
In 3a the students will review and consolidate what they have learned before then leads to a new sentence. Distinguish the three words Mr, Mrs and Miss, by the way, introduce Mz. 3b is to ask your partner's favorite subjects and teachers to practice target language. The fourth part is to enable students to report on the investigation, using the target language.
П.Analysis of the students
Grade seven students haven’t learned English for quite a long time. Most students are interested in learning English. In this class we are going to talk about “My favorite subject" I think the students must be very active to express their ideas. So I will guide them to use by learning .
Ш.Teaching aims
1.Basic knowledge:
a).Key vocabulary: teacher who partner city dad mom/mum Mr Mrs Miss Mz
b).Talk about likes and dislikes, using the target language. Then give the reasons.
c).Learn and master the sentences leading by the interrogative words “What, Why, Who”
2.Abilities:
a).Train students' speaking ability. b)Train students' communicative ability.
3.Emotion goals:
Enable students to care for others around them , especially their partners and family members.
Ⅳ.Analysis of the teaching methods
Use a real situation to arouse the students to take part in the pair and group work and try to learn by using the target language.
Use the Task-based teaching method in order to develop the skills of speaking ,reading and writing.
According to the learning regularity ,we adopt “step by step” ways .
Use the body language, flashcards , pictures and teaching courseware to make the lessons lively and interesting .
Ⅴ.Teaching process
Step1Warming_up activity
Use flashcards or pictures to revise the words and sentence patterns learned in Period 1.Let students work in pairs or groups.
Eg. What is your favorite subject? ...
Why do you like ...? Because it is ...
Step2.Lead_in
After the revision, use some flashcards or pictures to present the new words and Who question.
Eg. My favorite subject is English. And here is a photo of my English teacher. Isn't she beautiful? ... Yeah, she is very beautiful, and she is my favorite teacher. Now , class, please tell me who is your favorite teacher .
Step3.Reading and writing
Let students read and complete the conversation in 3a ,using the target language.
Step4.Pair work
Go on with 3b ,practice similar conversation in 3a. If possible ,let students work in groups, then give a report,paying attention to the use of his and her.
Step5.A survey
Make a survey of Ss' parents, completing the chart with their parents' favorite things. At the same time ,encourage Ss to know more about their parents ,communicate better with each other and show love/respect to parents.
Step6.Summary
Let Ss sum up the interrogative words they've learned so far. At the same time ,fill in the chart in guiding_teaching plan P130
Step7.Homework
a).Make a further survey about Ss' favorite things. b).Finish other exercises. eg. Choose the correct answers from Column B to match the questions in ColumnA.

Ⅶ.Teaching reflection
In this lesson ,I mainly adopt repeating, practicing, comparing, role-playing and task-based learning methods. I try to make students learn by reading ,listening ,and practicing .Students learn the key and difficult language points by finishing the tasks .When teaching new words and phrases ,students can learn better .I also arrange individual work, pair work and group work to practice .Students are willing to learn , speak and write in class , I think they can improve their listening and writing skills and spoken English in class .At the same time, it can make Ss know each other better and increase the friendship between them. It can also arouse their thoughts of loving studying and form good life habbits.
