Prevention Plan. If you've conducted the survey " Are
there any hazardous materials in my home?", you've
already identified potential hazardous products and
practices in your home.
※ Directions:
Complete these steps for the hazardous products that you identified
in your home survey.
Step 1
List the main ingredients(成分)for each of the products.
Step 2
Identify how your family presently disposes(处置)of each product.
Step 3
Try to find the code which shows how each product should be properly disposed of. ( Maybe a book with a name of "Best Way to Dispose of Products")
Step 4
Identify alternative products which may be used. Refer to the chart "Alternatives at Home".
Step 5
Discuss the results with your family. Then decide which action you and your family will take for each product. If your family is not already following the "best way to dispose" will you switch to this method or consider using an alternative(替换)product?

How does this list compare to what your community recommends?
Does your community allow you to recycle all the materials on your list, or are there materials that your community recycles that you are not currently recycling?
Be informed and become a better global citizen!
Which of the following materials does your family recycle?
____ newspaper
____ cardboard
____ white paper
____ plastic bags
____ _________ ____ aluminum cans
____ glass containers
____ tin cans
____ steel cans
____ _____________
By having a plan and checking your progress on it every month, you and your family should be able to make a difference in protecting the environment.
